Test Engineer


We are seeking a driven, self-motivated and passionate Test Engineer to join our team.  We are searching for an experienced Electrical Engineer (Test Engineer) to support the Labview programming to test, control and analyze our high throughput devices.  In addition, the test engineer will assist in design of PCBs in support of our next generation sequencing instruments.  The Test Engineer will be part of a cross disciplinary team of Engineers and Scientists, working in a dynamic start-up biotech environment near the Seattle waterfront. The position is salaried with hours dependent on lab needs and project deadlines.


  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of experience.

  • Strong Labview development skills and familiarity with Labview FPGA.

  • Familiar with the PXIe architecture and data acquisition strategies on PXIe.

  • Familiarity with programming benchtop lab equipment like DC power supplies, SourceMeters, oscilloscopes etc.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for testing analog and digital circuits.

  • Strong PCB design and layout skills is a plus. Prefer Altium tool experience.


  • Develop Labview programs for testing and characterizing our CMOS DNA sensor chips.

  • Design PCBs for characterization.

  • Develop and document test procedures.

  • Maintain the lab’s cleanliness and organization.

  • Adhere to Stratos Genomics’ policies and support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Very good organization skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical ability.

  • A keen ability to listen to directions and execute them accurately.

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organization levels.

  • Ability to work safely and professionally with or on Stratos' property.
