Laboratory Assistant I
We are seeking driven, self-motivated, and passionate individuals looking to start a career in a fast-paced lab. The position will play an integral role in the day to day operations as we develop our novel DNA sequencing technology. The position is full-time (8am-5pm, Monday to Friday) and reports directly to our Central Services (CS) manager.
Order and track laboratory supplies.
Create, receive and reconcile orders through our ordering and tracking software.
Keep the lab clean and organized.
Maintain and repair equipment.
Ensure efficacy of lab’s pipetman.
Complement the positive and dynamic Central Services (CS) team, lending support to the CS manager and other laboratory assistants.
Quickly and effectively interpret directions into appropriate and efficient actions.
Develop and propose improved processes to fulfill the above functions.
Other duties as assigned.
Adhere to Stratos' policies and support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organizational levels.
Strong analytical ability with active listening skills.
Solid computer skills.
Very good organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work safely and professionally with or on Stratos' property.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree focused in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or related field preferred.
Compensation: Lab Assistants start at a competitive hourly rate with the opportunity for growth that only a burgeoning start-up can provide.
