Bioengineer, Microfluidic Process Development




We are seeking a driven, self-motivated, and passionate Bioengineer to join our team. We are searching for a Bioengineer with experience in microfluidics to help develop microfluidic processes on our high throughput CMOS sensors.  In addition, the Bioengineer will assist in data collection, data analysis and modelling. The Bioengineer will be part of a cross disciplinary team of engineers and scientists, working in a dynamic biotech start-up environment near the Seattle waterfront. The position is salaried with hours dependent on lab needs and project deadlines.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in science/engineering with additional relevant experience.

  • Experience working with microfluidic devices.

  • Familiarity with benchtop lab equipment like DC power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes and a good understanding of basic electricity.

  • Good understanding of basic chemistry and associated lab skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Additional Requirements

  • Experience with Labview test environment.

  • Experience with Matlab programming and data processing.

  • Appreciation of structure-function relationships of organic molecules.


  • Develop and document test procedures.

  • Perform testing on microfluidic sensors.

  • Analyze test results and present findings.

  • Maintain the lab’s cleanliness and organization.

  • Adhere to Stratos Genomics’ policies and support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Very good organization skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical ability.

  • A keen ability to listen to directions and execute them accurately.

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organization levels.

  • Ability to work safely and professionally with or on Stratos' property.
